Is it the plague or local transit incompetence?

Showed up at 11:10 for an 11:15 train home. The train did not arrive. According to their Rider Alerts page, only the 12:45am train was cancelled. According to the signs at the station, the 12:45 train was my only option home.

This is not an unusual level of clusterfuckery from our local transit authority and yet they can’t figure out why rider counts are decreasing.

Bless the folks still driving for Uber.

Those 2 are the same thing lol.

Bless the folks still driving for Uber.

I was thinking this last night, btw. It was raining and late, I took an uber home and thanked the guy for still working during this shitshow . They’re in a tiny space with dozens of people every day.

What would we prefer:

Panicked incompetence; or

Incompetent panic...

I can't decide!

Never attribute to malice what you can attribute to ignorance.

I’d feel better if it was coronavirus driver shortage, in all honesty.

As I told pip bip, I WISH I could attribute this to the virus, but it’s more likely just our usual idiocy. I am trying to support public transit, particularly for airport trips. Our highway is in the middle of a massive long term reconstruction project and I’ve been caught in too many 2 am traffic jams. But something like this happens every single time I plan a trip. We have a driver shortage and they’re cancelling certain routes in advance, but even when I plan around those I keep getting stranded.

I would have more sympathy if they had tweeted that they were suddenly extra  short on  drivers due to illness.

Yeah. I was thinking about that too. I had an interesting chat with my driver about it and tipped him like 75%. If the shit hit the fan I could have walked home but it would have taken another hour s o I was very happy to have a ride.
